CAD-CAM Engineering Applied to CNC Machining
Process Optimisation, Reduced Lead Times and Maximum Precision in the Manufacture of Mechanical Components
At Mecanizados CMS, CAD-CAM engineering is an integral part of our CNC machining process.
We work directly from CAD files, 3D models and the customer’s technical documentation, enabling us to reduce programming and setup times, optimise machining strategies and ensure greater production reliability.
The direct integration between our engineering department and the workshop guarantees accurate execution from the design stage through to the finished component.

CAD-CAM Technology
The implementation of CAD-CAM technology throughout our manufacturing processes provides:
- Reduced setup and programming time
- Greater dimensional accuracy
- Excellent repeatability for batch production
- Rapid adaptation to design changes
- Fewer production issues
This results in greater efficiency, reduced manufacturing risks and enhanced process control for every project.
CAD-CAM Software
We use professional CAD-CAM software for CNC programming, machining simulation and process validation before production.

CAD-CAM Workflow
Our CAD-CAM process is based on the following stages:
- Receipt and analysis of technical drawings, STEP, DWG, STP files and 3D models
- CNC programming optimised for each machine and manufacturing process
- Simulation and collision detection before machining
- Parameter optimisation to maximise efficiency and production stability
- Direct transfer of CNC programs to the workshop for production
This workflow enables us to anticipate potential issues, reduce manufacturing times and achieve optimum results from the very first component.
From Design to Production
Programs developed by our engineering department are transferred directly to our CNC machining centres, ensuring complete consistency between design, manufacturing, dimensional inspection and on-time delivery.
